Myanmar Summer

Myanmar has three seasons (ya2-thi2). Rainy season (mo3 ya2-thi2) starts from mid June. Rain and thunderstorms are heaviest around July and tapered off towards the end of August. A short dry month is followed by a cooler "tourist" season (hsoun3 ya2-thi2) starting from around late September till February. Then comes the romantic summer months (nway2 ya2-thi2) when the old brown leaves fall away, and new flowers start to blossom in tall "Padauk" trees.
